The village is truly local Bali - simple houses with dirt floors, temples, a school, all bordered by rice paddies and other agricultural plots surrounded by ravines, mountains and waterways and sheer green beauty. This is a subsistence-farming society. They are proud to share their way of life with our guests and you will be introduced to a way of life which is welcoming and immediately relaxing.
Balinese are spiritual people and you will notice daily rituals and other colourful ceremonies happening around you. On a daily basis we make offerings and you are welcome to join with the girls crafting and delivering them. We welcome your participation in local rituals and ceremonies where appropriate. Please have an open mind and respect local traditions. |

Balinese gamelan music is another rich feature of Balinese culture, and around Ayung Sari Indah you will see many musical instruments that make up the gamelan. Gamelan music is a percussion dominated musical group made up of bronze gongs, metallophones, cymbals, drums and flutes. Wayan and some of our staff are talented musicians and enjoy playing the gamelan for our guests. Kabal has taught many guests to play and would be happy to teach you if you are interested. |

Dancing is a way of life. Traditional dances are performed at temple festivals and ceremonies. Children are taught dance at school. Wayan can take you to dance performances or you may want to take a class with a Balinese dance teacher to learn the basic moves to this elegant dance form. |

Our landscaped gardens and architecture go hand in hand. Indeed, the landscaped gardens of Ayung Sari Indah were established before accommodation was built. Wayan spent many years as a painter and sculptor. These days he loves to put his creativity to work in our gardens and bungalows. Lush and relaxing, the setting will massage revitalise your senses. You are welcome to enjoy lots of special places, including the small kubus, sprinkled throughout, to meditate, write, read, nap or use to spend time with others. |

Arrange some time with our highly respected Bapak Gading - a very skilled healer. He can not only give a relaxing and revitalising massage, but is also very experienced in dealing with injuries. Enjoy a massage in your room or in one of the kubus overlooking the jungle. |
